(Above: Hills created by ‘salamanders’, otherwise known as the southeastern pocket gopher. Why they are called salamanders, I have no idea. They look like large moles.)
Summary: Today began with calisthenics, piano practice, and a portion of the weekly Jacobhouse cleaning. This was followed by a beef pasture inspection with Padre and then another 25 minutes of house-neatening. The next two hours were spent writing, after which I reviewed some PoA text and began inspecting and working on next week’s activities. Lunch occurred at 1:20 PM and consisted of baked potatoes, spring mix salad, and plenty of watermelon.
(5:44 PM Update:) Afternoon activities began with watching some more PoA lecture and a brief bout of rest. I next ventured outdoors where I helped with a few cattle-related activities, including: a beef pasture inspection, capturing a couple cows for breeding and embryo transfer, preparing an IV (and IV’ing) a premature calf weighing no more than 30 lbs, and finicking with a defective IV kit.* I next stopped by Madre’s current office where we ordered airplane tickets for Orlando-to-Seattle in late November. The visit is being made with the primary intention of visiting my brother.
Final Note: Now that I have aided in performing the day’s final beef pasture inspection, I plan to conclude this entry and grill a large Master Blend chuck steak for dinner. It shall go excellently with a plenitude of arugula and spring-mix.
